What does home insurance cover?

A Qantas Home Insurance policy covers you for the loss or damage (up to the amount insured) to your residential building. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Your garages;
  • Other structures, for example your garden shed and fences;
  • Domestic fixtures – items permanently attached to your home or buildings (e.g. built-in wardrobes, air conditioner, kitchen cupboards, dishwasher, fixed floor coverings (except carpets), awnings, in-ground swimming pool); and;
  • Permanent structural improvements, for example a home extension.
