I’d rather not have a premium increase than receive a giveback payment. Is that possible?

Unfortunately not. During the pandemic, funds were set aside to help cover the costs for any claims catch-up once healthcare and ancillary services returned to normal.

To date, the volume of catch up in claims has been lower and slower than expected, which is why Qantas Health Insurance is able to return funds to our members in the form of a COVID cash give back.

We acknowledge that our giveback reflects greatly reduced access to healthcare services over the previous two years. However, to keep pace with claims cost inflation that we see on the horizon, and the rise of healthcare costs, our premiums increase is required so that Qantas Health Insurance can continue to pay claims on behalf of all our members.
