If I make a payment for premiums due prior to 1 April 2024 will I need to pay the higher premium price?

No. You will be charged the previous premium price for the number of days you are in arrears prior to 1 April. The new premium price will only apply from 1 April 2024.

For example:

Zoe has paid up to 1 March 2024. Her monthly premium is $90. From 1 April 2024 Zoe's monthly premium amount will increase to $100.

On 1 April 2024 Zoe calls to pay her March premium (“arrears”), and pay one month in advance. Zoe will need to pay $90 for March, and $100 for April: Zoe pays $190 ($90 + $100).

Remember, the Australian Government private health insurance rebate percentage a member is entitled to claim is determined by the date a payment is made.
